das tool ist echt genial.. dass es sogar angefangene film-dateien, die noch nicht fertig geladen sind, abspielen kann, find ich ziemlich stark

Ebenfalls zu empfehlen ist mplayer. In der Standard-Ausführung als Kommandozeilen-Werkzeug, ist es wahlweise auch mit GUI-Frontend zu benutzen.
Ob es auch das WMV-Format abspielen kann, weiß ich nicht. *g*
