Ich geb nicht gerne Tips, solange ich Zweifel an ihrer Richtigkeit habe, aber ...

Form die Ungleichung doch zuerst einmal so um, dass du alle Variablen einer Sorte auf einer Seite vereinst. Soll heissen, alle y auf die eine, alle x auf die andere Seite. Die nächste Operation sollte dann eigentlich relativ offensichtlich sein.

Das ist jetzt zwar schon nen halbes Jahr her, aber ich würde mal 'Tipp' sagen: Binomische Formel!

           y² - x² < 2 (y - x)
<=> (y + x)(y - x) < 2 (y - x)
<=> y + x          < 2
<=> y              < 2 - x

Ergo wird die (offene) Menge unter der Geraden mit der Steigung -1 durch (0,2) betrachtet.
Charmant sein? Hab ich längst aufgegeben. Glaubt mir doch eh keiner...

Du hast noch die Fallunterscheidung für x > y vergessen. So müsste dann noch der Fall y > 2 - x betrachtet werden.
